Focus Scripture:
The Social Care Ministry Section is set up to bring relief, offer advice and practical support and assistance to the Partners (Members) of Ruach Ministries facing life challenges who are feeling unsupported or ignored by the usual channels of community support. This Ministry Section offers Ruach Partners (Members), when possible, tangible support and assistant at times of difficulty, crisis or ‘crossroads’ situations. The Staff combine a very professional approach with tact and sensitivity maintaining confidentiality, within appropriate guidelines. This Ministry Section provides a practical contribution to balance the spiritual working towards the premise of serving the ‘whole’ man—body, soul and spirit in keeping with 1 Corinthians 12 vs 25 - 27.
The Social Care Ministry Section consists of the following Ministry Teams:
- Koinonia Ministry Team
- Professional Counselling
- Hospital & Home Visit Ministry Team
- Hearing Impaired Ministry Team
- Community Relations & Advisory Committee (CRAC)
Koinonia Ministry Team
The Koinonia Ministry Team provides support to those Partners (Members) of Ruach Ministries experiencing difficulty. This support is in the form of Food items, clothing and our Back-to-School programme. Contributions for this programme are received from the Ruach Partners (Members).
Professional Counselling Ministry Team:
It’s Good To Talk! The Team consists of qualified, professional, practicing counsellors. If you feel you could benefit from attending counselling sessions, referrals can be made through the Ruach Office.
Hospital and Home Visiting Team:
This Team consists of Partners (Members) of Ruach who volunteer their time to make visits to those at home or in hospital. The Hospital & Home Visit Team provide a very valuable service to Partners (Members) of Ruach who are ill, disabled, hospitalised, etc. This Team provides both practical and spiritual input on each visit helping to maintain the individual’s link with our church. The Team also conduct House Blessings and Home Prayer for Ruach Partners (Members) upon request.
Hearing Impaired MInistry Team:
The Hearing Impaired Team provide interpretive support at our church services in the form of sign language for those who have hearing difficulties.
Community Relations and Advisory Committee
This committee consists of a wide range of practicing professionals covering a variety of areas and providing a wealth of information. This group provides advice and advocacy to Ruach Partners (Members) including but not limited to: Police, Crime and Legal services, Health and Well-Being, Housing, Education, Family support, etc.
