Outreach - Focus Scripture/Motto:

Matthew 25 vs 35 – 37, 40 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing.” I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me. "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

The Outreach Ministry Section exists to bring relief to the less fortunate members of our community by practically demonstrating the love of Christ to them. The Outreach Ministry Section consists of the following Ministry Teams:

  • Prison Ministry
  • Evangelism Ministry
  • Homeless Ministry
  • JAF Project

Prisons Ministry Team:

The Prison Ministry is set up to bring the love of Christ to inmates in prisons throughout the United Kingdom in keeping with Isaiah 61 vs 1,2. Over the years Ruach Ministries has established relationships with prison inmates, through prison Chaplains. The Prison Ministry regularly visits the inmates of Brixton Prison as well as other prisons throughout the South East of England. The team offers support and encouragement to those who are incarcerated, by sharing the Gospel as well as continuing contact by writing letters, etc. The Prison Ministry Team works within the rules of the prison services when carrying out its activities.

Prisons visited: Edmund’s Hill, Highpoint, Norwich & Norwich YOI, Women orchard Unit, Belmarsh, Brixton, Broadmoor Hospital - Wayland

Evangelism Ministry Team:

The Evangelism Ministry is set up to bring the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the wider community in keeping with Luke 14 v 23. Its members take the God’s message of salvation outside the four walls of the church to those who may never have considered walking through its doors. The team witness in Brixton High Street each week with their main objective in mind to fulfil the Great Commission in the most effective way.

Homeless Ministry Team:

The Homeless Ministry is set up to provide regular support to the homeless persons living in the local community. This support takes the form of cooked meals and providing clothing and other necessary personal items they may be in need of.  In addition to this, the Homeless Ministry Team utilises the opportunities opened to them during in this time of practical ministration to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The JAF Team:

The JAF Team has been set up to assist those in the local community, especially among the youth who are dealing with chronic social issues in keeping with Luke 19 v 10. The JAF Team provides a drop-in-centre, which provides practical support for those suffering from the effects of substance and alcohol abuse. This support is in the form of giving addicts access to teaching, advice and pastoral care and support. The Team also aim to provide a short term residential facility to support those who are ready to go through the process of rehabilitation with the ultimate goal being to empower individuals to achieve lasting abstinence from drug and alcohol addiction. Thus improving their ability to live full lives free from drug and alcohol addiction.
