As our motto denotes the main function of the Academy of Learning (AOL) is to equip & educate individuals and teams to serve effectively within the body of Christ. To this end we have seven sections within our department, each with a unique function.
- Discipleship Training programme (DTP)

Discipleship Training Programme (DTP):
The DTP is set up to give a solid foundation to the principles of the Christian faith. The programme takes individuals through the stages of discipleship. The overall programme enables you to build your life based on the Word of God.
TARGET PARTICIPANTS – All New Believers & Christians Partnering with Ruach Ministries.
The Potters Restoration Programme (PRP) :
The PRP is designed to offer “Intensive Care” for individuals who may be feeling wounded, bruised, vulnerable or sensitive, due to their life experiences. Through the ‘medicinal’ application of the Word of God individuals are guided to emotional and spiritual healing.
TARGET PARTICIPANTS – Partners (Members) of Ruach Ministries.
Brixton Bible Institute:
The BBI was established to provide an invaluable foundation in Practical Theology and Doctrine with a strong emphasis on prayer, the Holy Spirit and victorious living through active faith in Jesus our Lord. Presently, the BBI runs a one year part time Certificate course based at Southbank University. It is set up to train Christians and Christian Leaders for more effective service.

Leadership Training
THE FAST TRACK LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMME - Aims to equip the 21 Century Christian Leaders by providing an opportunity to take stock, re-define goals and fine tune leadership skills. For those who feel the Call to Leadership it is an opportunity to practically and spiritually assess your aptitude to the call and responsibilities of Leadership.
THE JOSHUA LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMME – An in-house specific Training Programme, designed and aimed at those “Serving” within Ruach Ministries in a Leadership capacity. The Programme promotes the continued development of Godly Character, The Fruit of the Spirit, a Team Spirit, whilst sharpening Practical Leadership Skills as well as providing opportunities to look at and explore a breadth of Topics that Leaders have to contend with such as Mental Health, Sexual orientation etc etc.
TARGET PARTICIPANTS –Mature Christians who are in Leadership positions or feel the call to Leadership.
The 'Christ In Me' Mentoring Training Programme:
This 7 week course takes the individual on a journey to discover how mentoring from the perspective of the ‘Christ within You’ helps to promote the Word of God in the lives of others. The aim is to educate and equip you to mentor others in ministry.
TARGET PARTICIPANTS –Mature Christians who are Partners (Members) serving within Ruach Ministries
Teacher Training:
The aim of this course is to help individuals who have identified that they are called to teach as we recognise that Teaching is a Gift from God. This course covers various aspects of the practicalities of teaching looking at how Jesus taught his Disciples to teach others and helping the individual to understand God’s purpose when placing the gift of teaching within.
TARGET PARTICIPANTS – Mature Christians who are Partner with Ruach Ministries volunteering in a teaching role.
Church Workers Training:
Church Workers Training provides Practical & Spiritual Team Building Training for all volunteers “Serving” in Ministry Teams in Ruach Ministries. The Training Programmes offered are wide and varied and sourced form within Ruach Ministries as well as from external educational bodies. The Ministry Teams are provided with Training to assist them to carry out their duties more effectively. For example, Customer Care Training, First Aid, Health & Safety, Peace-Keeping Training and bespoke Training Programmes as and when required.
TARGET PARTICIPANTS – All Serving within Ruach Ministries
The Training and Development Programme within the Academy of Learning is accessible by members of the Patris Fellowship Churches.
